Visual Mihi

This week in Te Ngahere we made a visual mihi. I chose these images because they remind me of the kupu in the mihi. These images also help me remember the mihi because they remind me of the kupu and how the mihi is said. These images also help me understand it better which helps me a lot.

Eastern Brown Snake

Fidget Spinner Art

A few weeks ago Te Ngahere and Te Maunga made fidget spinner art. We were learning to use, space, crayon and dye. We used A3 paper to draw our fidget spinners, we had to use as much space as we could. To me, drawing the fidget spinners were kind of hard because there would be lines that are longer than the other and circles that are bigger than the others.

Surf Safe!!

This is my surf safe presentation, I wrote down ten facts you need to remember when you are at the beach and also my reflection. I think I need to improve on saying stuff in my own words.

The Tryathlon!

At the Tryathlon everyone took part in a swim, run and bike. First we had to do the swim, then we had to run from the beach back to school, get on the bike and bike twice around the field.

The Tangelo!

The Tangelo

As I breathed in and then out I admired the smell of the fresh tangelo. As the smell crept up my nose I thought about what it smelt like. I thought to myself, orange? But then I said no? Fresh air? No? It smelt like Orange and fresh air put together! I swept my fingers across the wavy, bumpy skin, there were little black dots on the tangelo, they made the tangelo look like it had black freckles. I carefully dug my thumb underneath the the fresh skin and began to peel. When I was finished I took a piece off and stuck it into my mouth I bit it and the juice poured down my throat, FRESHNESS!
The End.

This is my Tangelo writing, my goal was to use descriptive words, I also needed to use similes. I think I need to work on similes because I only used one.

That Was Summer By Arihia

Tuesday 7th February 2017

I Remember…

(where: Jump Trampoline Park Avondale)
(when: Summer holidays)

I Remember …

Bouncing side to side on the big bouncy trampolines.
Forward flipping and crazy cartwheeling all over the place,
Jumping into the fun foam pit and jumping off the big beam.
It looked fun and it was very fun!
I bounced on the terrific trampoline where the basketball hoop was, I picked up a ball, bounced up high and slammed the ball into the hoop!
Then I dropped onto the trampoline and called out to my brother to help me up.
Then I thought let’s go and try climb the wall.
That was my Summer.

I was learning to write a descriptive piece of writing. I wrote a  piece of descriptive writing that described my summer holidays. In my writing I think I did well in the structure, I also think I need to improve on using more descriptive words.
